2nd Partners and Stakeholders Co-Design Workshop

We held a roundtable discussion to consolidate everything we've learned so far, creating a concrete version of our projects and strategies aligned with the financial model of our Landscape Strategy.

We unveiled our Program Vision, focusing on 8 key priorities for our landscape:

- Northern Biolink:
Linkage and restoration of Buloke Forest across the norther area of our region; to promote biodiversity, paddock trees and wildlife corridors

- Southern Biolink:
Linkage and restoration of the Box-Ironbark Forest; linking the National Parks and NCRS to promote biodiversity, paddock trees and wildlife corridors (especially for Squirrel Gliders)

- Grassland Restoration and Plains Wanderer Habitat:
Mapping, protection, restoration and linkage (where possible) of grassland vegetation classes; to promote biodiversity, and habitat for the Plains Wanderer in the northern section of our region.

- Healthy Waterways:
Restoration, enhancement, management, and protection of rivers and wetlands; with specific projects on the Avon-Richardson in the West, the Avoca in the East and the extensive wetlands including the Avon Plains Lakes, Wooroonook Lakes and Lake Buloke. The utilisation of farm dams in providing habitat to link these assets will also be considered.

- Traditional Owner Partnerships:
We seek to engage and work with traditional owner groups throughout the region, on every project we undertake, and identify a specific cultural program to facilitate this aim.

- Community Education and Research Hub:
Development of a State Landcare Museum and Hall of Fame, with facilities for research and education on sustainable agricultural practices.

- Seedbanks and Seed Collection:
Development of Seed Collection group (BNGLN Seedpod) in partnership with Seeding Victoria, for the education of Landcarers and seed collectors and long term storage of seed. The development of seedling nurseries also forms part of this project.

- Sustainable Agricultural Production:
The education and implementation of sustainable, regenerative and profitable farming methods is vital to to ensuring the success of the Windharp Horizons project in our region.
